(FOR WOMEN ONLY, WHO WILL UNDERSTAND MY DISMAY) I am beginning to get discouraged when I walk into my closet. Nothing fits! The chemo therapy has caused me to retain fluid and my ankles and abdomen are swollen. I've gained 10 lbs!
Denise...I sympathize with the weight gain and clothes not fitting...I have two pregnant daughters and I think I've gained sympathy weight with them...if only I could wear maternity clothes, too! I'm betting both our men can do with more full-figured women :0). Love you and keeping you in my prayers, your Holy Land trip friend, Sandy Clem.
Denise, I understand completly. I gained in the same areas. There is good news. IF you are allowed to get into a bathtub or swimming pool, lay down and and rest in the coolness of the water. You will find great relief. My PT gave me this little bit of information. You will find the swelling reduce. Amazing. I lost about 2 lbs in 20 minutes of soaking. Reminds me of scripture...what say ye?
Hey Denise--how wonderful is must feel to be home again. Regarding weight issue--I know firsthand how awful it is to blimp out due to meds and/or illness. I'm rather unrecognizable, which is helpful when I'm avoiding the press.
About clothes: I live in huge shirts from Dickies. The material is durable and resists wrinkles. Dickies.com go to men's shirts.
Hey everyone, I succumbed and went shopping and bought some new jeans a size larger, and another pair 2 sizes larger (for the first day after my chemo when I am so swollen from all the drugs and fluids I received).
Let's keep this in prespective. You WALKED into your closet, right...
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
